Lang.8 currently accepts no new users. What's the alternative?

I do not know if this has been talked about as of yet, however, it seems that Lang.8 doesn't accept any new users at the moment. I've gotten to the point in the book that recommends this website to get corrections from native speakers for my writings in my target language and I'm wondering whether Mr.Gabriel Wyner has any recommended alternatives that he perhaps has seen for himself - other than Italki because users over there seem inactive regarding that area- or was introduced to by the community. Any suggestions from the rest of the community here are most welcome as well.
