Should I use SRS for words I already know to make better connections?

At the end of each chapter in the book, Gabe talks about how to modify things if you're an intermediate. We recommend that you follow those instructions (even if you don't feel like an intermediate!).  If you know a translation for a word immediately, then don't spend time re-learning it. Focus on new words, and once you move to sentences in your target language, then those sentences will naturally start incorporating old words without using translations.
