Vocabulary - even basic vocabulary like those 625 words - needs to be personal if it’s going to stick. So that process of moving the words from their narrative setting and putting them into flashcard form is an essential one.
Okay... let's elaborate: the amount of time it takes to form rudimentary connections between the words in each set – as per: economico - hotel - sette - giorno - plastica & letto – just takes an instant. As soon as you see the image and read the words, those associations have already formed. Those connections also get reinforced by the mere fact that you’re learning them in that particular order. If you make economico, and then hotel, then when you study your flashcards, you’re going to see economico, then review a few old cards, and then see hotel. Then, a few days later, economico and hotel are going to come back as reviews (on the same day), and you’ll reinforce that set of connections a third time.
