Click on the sync button in Anki. Make sure you are connected to the internet whenever you click the sync button.
After you click the sync button, an “Account Required” popup will show up. Since you do not yet have an AnkiWeb account, click on the blue “sign up” link in the “Account Required” popup to go to the sign up page and create a free account.
b) Go directly to the AnkiWeb sign up page in your internet browser
You can also just open up your preferred internet browser (such as Firefox, Safari, Chrome or Internet Explorer). Then, go to this web address: https://ankiweb.net/account/register so that you can access the AnkiWeb sign up page to create a new account.
Signing up for a new AnkiWeb account
On the AnkiWeb sign up page, you’ll be asked for you email address and a chosen password.
Put in your details, and you’ll then be sent to the sign up confirmation page, where it will say that an email has been sent to your email address. You should check your email inbox and follow the instructions in that email in order to complete your AnkiWeb sign up.
Once you’ve checked the AnkiWeb email and confirmed you email address, then your AnkiWeb account should be ready, and you can instantly start syncing the Anki decks on your devices onto AnkiWeb in the cloud.
